Qualifications
I am a native of North Carolina and graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor's Degree in English. I worked in marketing for several years. After my first child was born, I decided to become a stay-at-home mom.I became interested in becoming a doula as a result of my own experiences during the postpartum period. I underwent c-sections with both children, resulting in extreme fatigue and limited mobility; postpartum depression; breastfeeding difficulties; and little support from other women. These challenges were transformed into an opportunity to learn how I could support other new mothers, and the rest is history! So far, I have had the pleasure of serving 11 families, which have included premature infants, twins, babies with colic, and babies with reflux.
Being a doula is so rewarding to me because I feel like I am truly making a difference in a family's life during the challenging "fourth trimester." I have formed warm friendships with many of my clients, and, of course, enjoyed spending time with their precious babies!
